Must have a strong background in the fundamentals of digital equipment, microprocessors and programmable controllers. Must be proficient in troubleshooting and repair techniques. Must be computer literate for using plant programs, i.e. condition monitoring, condition reporting and status reporting. Have effective communication and team working skills.
Must have a good working understanding of the National Electrical Code with knowledge of Article 500. Should be well versed in conduit installation, motor control circuitry, switch gear maintenance and cable termination. Know how to read and interpret electrical prints and schematic drawings.
High voltage: 4160 volts knowledge will be very beneficial. Trouble shooting 4160 volts electrical systems and permissive would further workers knowledge. Ensures that refinery safety procedures are followed.
