Job Summary

Must have a strong background in the fundamentals of programmable controllers. Must be proficient in trouble-shooting and repair techniques. Must be able to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, flow diagrams, P&ID’s and construction blueprints. Estimate costs and order materials.

Must have a good working knowledge of Process Analyzer concepts and theory. CEMS knowledge is a plus. Field instrumentation calibration, and interlock systems. Must be able to work in high places (not afraid of heights) and work in confined spaces. Knowledge of low voltage 115- volts would be a plus. Must be physically fit and should have the aptitude to advance to a Maintenance Analyzer Foreman. Ensures that refinery safety procedures are followed. Must have California Electrical Certification.

Education and Experience Requirements
High school education or equivalent.
A minimum of 3 years experience in instrumentation and analyzer maintenance. With at least 6 years in refinery/petrochemical plants or satisfactory completion of two years of instrumentation disciplines and analyzers.
Must be computer literate for using plant programs i.e. condition monitoring, condition reporting and status reporting. Have effective communication and team working skill.

1. General Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be reliable—daily attendance for scheduled work is mandatory.
Must be capable of identifying, utilizing and operating tools and equipment associated with applied for craft discipline.
Operate mobile motorized vehicles and motorized equipment, as trained.
General clean up.
Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and recognize all job related work permits and complete Job Hazard Analysis.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to troubleshoot and solve problems.

2. Supervisory Functions:
Trained as Supervisor Backup

3. Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to follow and comprehend supervisor’s instructions.
Must have the ability to perform basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Must be fluent at reading, speaking, and writing English.
Must demonstrate rigging skills and utilization of crane hand signals.
Must be able to maintain communications with I&E supervisors of job status and current assigned responsibilities.
Must be able to maintain a clean jobsite free of tripping hazards and unnecessary obstacles.
Must demonstrate knowledge of entry requirements for columns, vessels and heaters.
Must have basic Computer skills

4. Physical Demands:
Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment.
Must be capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Must be able to bend, squat and kneel.
Must be capable of climbing ladders and scaffolds and working at heights.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted.
Must be able to work in confined spaces.
Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, Nomex coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses.
Must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may be up to seven days a week for extended duration’s of up to 8 weeks or more.
