TIMEC offers a comprehensive suite of maintenance and turnaround services to the oil and gas, petrochemical, water, wastewater and food industries, including specialty services such as stamp code welding, catalyst handling, high-temperature repair and inspection, training and safety support services.
Transfield Services acquired TIMEC in February 2007. The United States business aligns with Transfield Services’ experience and expertise in the hydrocarbons industry. Transfield Services is the market leader in refinery asset management.
TIMEC services about 39 of the 150 refineries in the US, and its strong and longstanding customer base includes some of the largest oil and gas companies in the world, including ConocoPhillips, Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell.
In May 2008, TIMEC acquired HRI, Inc., an expert provider to heavy industry of critical maintenance services in ultra high-temperature and confined space environments. HRI owns the patent on special super heat resistant suits that facilitate safe industrial repair and inspection work in workplaces that can reach up to 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit (700 degrees Celsius). The multi-layered suits are made from Kevlar and carbon fibre with an aluminium coating and have built-in communications systems, fully-filtered external air supplies and internal air-cooling systems.
This acquisition complements TIMEC’s current services.
