TIMEC’s incident-free status at Chevron for four years

La Porte, Texas  –  Saturday, 15 September 2007

Today marked TIMEC’s fourth consecutive year with zero recordables at the Chevron Salt Lake City, UT refinery following almost 1million man hours of work. TIMEC performs daily maintenance and the majority of the turnarounds exclusively in the facility.

Since mobilization in 2003, TIMEC Company, Inc. as well as its affiliates World-Wide Welding, Inc., Welltech National Training Systems, Inc. and James-TIMEC International, Inc. have been involved in the daily operations at the facility, always targeting the safest work environment possible.

Due to its outstanding safety record at the site, TIMEC received a series of meritorious safety awards from the NPRA (National Petrochemical & Refiners Association). In 2006, the NPRA presented TIMEC with two awards (one for Welltech and one for TIMEC itself); in 2005, with three (one for Welltech, one for TIMEC and one for World-Wide Welding); and in 2004, with two awards (one for Welltech and one for TIMEC).

In addition, Chevron’s Plant Manager presented TIMEC with a plaque for its excellent safety record. Chevron also renewed TIMEC’s contract in January 2006, extending services through 2009.

TIMEC celebrated its excellent safety record with a party at the Chevron facility on September 13. TIMEC’s daily maintenance staff of about 60 employees, its COO Gary Green and several Chevron employees attended the event.
