Chevron presents TIMEC with plaque
On August 27, Chevron presented the TIMEC group of companies with a plaque acknowledging the completion of over 1,000,000 man-hours of recordable-free work at its Salt Lake City refinery. The TIMEC team reached the one-million man-hour milestone in January 2009, but due to its busy schedule, which included on-going projects, it was impossible to hold a celebration to thank its employees at that time. Thus, TIMEC had a luncheon to celebrate 1,200,000 injury-free man-hours at the Chevron Salt Lake refinery on August 27.
“This outstanding achievement reflects the team’s continued focus on safety and commitment to watching out for each other. It takes the support of the client and of the TIMEC team to embody the belief that doing a job safely or not at all is the only way to remain injury free,” said Sr. Project Manager Jim Price.
The celebration took place on-site, with lunch catered by Majestic Grill. Among the attendees at the event were TIMEC’s routine maintenance staff, management (Lou Hall, Richard Cerenzio, Walt Dauglash, Barry Bolton, Jeff Krein, Trace Hubbard and Dan Eskelsen) and several Chevron employees (Mike Carlton, Maintenance & Reliability Manager; Tim Sutherland; Craig Romano, Maintenance Supervisor; Casey Valdez, Security Supervisor; Todd Ripley, Impact Team Supervisor).
TIMEC has been at the Chevron Salt Lake facility since 2003, providing specialty work through its safety division (Welltech), catalyst division (James-TIMEC) and welding division (World_Wide Welding). September 15, 2009 will mark TIMEC’s sixth consecutive recordable-free year at the refinery.
As a result of its impeccable safety record at the facility, TIMEC received two meritorious safety performance awards from the NPRA (National Petrochemical & Refiners Association) in May 2009 for its work in 2008. One was awarded to TIMEC Company, Inc. and the other to Welltech.
TIMEC received similar awards from the NPRA for its performance in 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004.
